Pyrokinesis, also known as ignikinesis, is the ability to manipulate heat and fire. Users of this ability are capable of generating, manipulating, and shaping flames, the rapid oxidation of a material in teh exothermic chemical process of combustion, releasing heat, light, and various reaction products, flames being the visible portion of the fire. This ability is a variation of Elementalism and Ergokinesis.
Applications[]
- Fire immunity: Pyrokinetics are typically immune to the negative effects of fire and/or heat.
- Flight: Pyrokinetics can achieved flight by creating super-heated thermal currents.
- Geo-thermokinesis: Some users may be capable of manipulating volcanoes, magma, and lava.
- Heat generation: Users are able to create heat by raising temperatures and increasing kinetic energy of matter.
- Heat shields: Users may be able to surround themselves with heat, incinerating or melting any oncoming projectiles.
- Inflammation: Some pyrokinetics may be able to cause burns without actually producing flames.
- Pyrokinetic constructs: Pyrokinetics may be able to solidify the flames they manipulate to create shapes and objects out of fire.
- Tephrakinesis: Some users may be able to generate and/or manipulate ash, a byproduct of fire.
- Typhokinesis Some users may be able to generate and/or manipulate smoke, a byproduct of fire.
Limitations[]
- Unconscious, empathic, impulsive, and/or reckless uses of this power can be catastrophic, and control, discipline, and restraint are extremely important.
- Distance, mass, precision, etc. depend on the knowledge, skill, and strength of the user, and their power's natural limits.
- Some users are not immune to extreme heat and fire, so they can be injured if direct contact is made.
- Users may also not be immune to other products of flames, such as ash or smoke inhalation.
- May not be able to generate fire and are limited to controlling already-existing fire.
- Fire can only be generated when oxygen, fuel, and energy is present.
- Hellfire does not require any of these in order to be generated.
- Water, ice, and/or coldness can be used to overpower fire and heat.
